Launch date: 18 July 2008
Closing date: 17 October 2008

Summary

This consultation has invited input into a strategy for Science and Society in the UK. The focus of the consultation is about developing a positive relationship between science and society, in which society is excited by science, values its importance, feels confident in its use and in which there is a representative and well-qualified scientific workforce.

The consultation has now closed and the Science and Society Unit is processing over 200 full responses from organisations and at least a further 200 individual or issue-specific responses. We aim by the end of November 2008 to make the responses available on this site.

Throughout the remainder of 2008 the Science and Society Unit will be identifying and sharing with stakeholders some of the main themes to emerge. The aim will be to produce the final strategy in the earlier part of 2009
